Having
chilled out for a few days it was time to get out and about. Having been to
Hawaii before, we took an open air trolley bus ride that covered parts of the
town we had not previously seen, like Chinatown, and a few spots well worth
revisiting.
The photos
tell most of the story. Check out the one of the motorcyclist with no helmet
(quite common) texting while in motion (hopefully not as common). We watched
this character for a while and he kept texting as though he was on autopilot.
Unbelievable!!
Of course
the day included a major assault on the local shopping centre. Sue was very restrained,
and only visited the Disney shop. Two of
our grandsons have birthdays coming up, so it was a good chance to buy gifts
that we couldn’t find at home. (And now
we will have to go back to the US Post office to pay half an arm and a leg to
get them back to home. Sue is keeping
the US economy flourishing!!!) Sue was
in her element and Phil felt right in it as well (ambiguity intended, heh,
heh). As a reward for soldiering on patiently Sue bought Phil the most delicious
coffee in town – a honey cinnamon latte! Well worth the migraine (just
kidding!). Only bought him a large one (as opposed to the 32oz ginormous size)
as I didn’t want him bouncing off the walls when we got back to the hotel
room!!!
Our
dear friends from Texas fly in tomorrow.
Luckily Jamie will shop till she drops, so she and Sue have pencilled in
the Outlet Centre on Friday. Who knows how much more she will buy…but it will
be too late to send it home till after the cruise. We both left home with each bag weighing in at
17kgs, so we do have some room to play with.
With over 4 weeks to go before we head home who knows how many parcels
will be sent home?? Ah holiday fun for Sue, and she hasn’t bought anything for
either of us yet. Oh dear!!!! J
