We took a
trolley ride around the town and a cruise on the harbour so we could check out
places we did not see on our last visit six years ago. The downtown area has
changed quite a bit in that time but it was good to see that plenty of the old
familiar Boston architecture still remains.
We took 90
photos today! So it was pretty hard to pick which ones to post. But here goes:
1. Locks on
the Charles River.
2 and 3. 2
is Starbucks with a gold teapot. In colonial days a tea shop would have
displayed such a teapot to advertise its stock. 3 with ladies boot symbol.
4. Symphony
Hall. Home of the Boston Pops Orchestra.
5. Typical
of the old gas lamps in numerous Boston streets. They love their heritage here.
12. Boston
law courts
6 and 7. Fenway
Park, home of the Boston Red Sox baseball team.
8. ’Temporary’
performance hall still operating after 20 years.
9. Tobin
Bridge. Longer than San Francisco’s Golden Gate. Note the two tiers of roadway.
10. Boston
Fire Rescue boat.
11. Boston
Skyline from the harbour.
