On Friday we decided it was time to hit the water. So off we
hopped across the street to dazzling Waikiki Beach! As you can see from the photos
it was a perfect day in paradise. The water was a pleasant temperature but the
sand was like the bottom of a very messy birdcage with more shell grit than we
thought possible. Ooch! Ouch! Very naughty words!!! But it was OK once we got a
bit deeper and, as Ritchie Benaud would have said, we felt ‘marvellous’.
After that it was off on a trolley bus to Ala Moana shopping
centre for a delicious lunch and a look around – yes, more shopping! As usual
the grandchildren will benefit the most from our expedition. But there is so
much cute stuff here for little kids that restraint is well-nigh impossible.
All up a great day for the Knights.
The fireworks go up tonight and we should have a great view
of them as we are on the 31st floor. Will post photos if we get good
ones.
