Hitting the beach

On Friday we decided it was time to hit the water. So off we hopped across the street to dazzling Waikiki Beach! As you can see from the photos it was a perfect day in paradise. The water was a pleasant temperature but the sand was like the bottom of a very messy birdcage with more shell grit than we thought possible. Ooch! Ouch! Very naughty words!!! But it was OK once we got a bit deeper and, as Ritchie Benaud would have said, we felt ‘marvellous’.

After that it was off on a trolley bus to Ala Moana shopping centre for a delicious lunch and a look around – yes, more shopping! As usual the grandchildren will benefit the most from our expedition. But there is so much cute stuff here for little kids that restraint is well-nigh impossible. All up a great day for the Knights.

The fireworks go up tonight and we should have a great view of them as we are on the 31st floor. Will post photos if we get good ones.
